I first found my love of craft beer when I landed my first serving job. The first craft beer I ever had was Frogtown IPA from Moeller Brew Barn, and that one pour kicked off a mission to drink my way through as much local craft beer as I could find. This was back in 2015 — craft breweries existed, but nowhere near as thick on the ground as they are a decade later. I went to a school with a dry campus, and while my classmates were smuggling Miller Lite and Keystone into their dorm fridges, I was smuggling in growlers of whatever Findlay Brewing had on tap that week. After graduation I bounced through a string of odd jobs before getting lucky with a position at a local craft beer and wine store. That place cracked the world of beer wide open for me, and somewhere between shelves of bottles I decided I wanted to be on the other side of it — making the stuff. When the world shut down, my wife and I moved to Columbus, and I waited it out until I could get my foot in the door at a local brewery. In 2021 I took a job as a cellar technician, and over the next few years I worked my way up to assistant brewer. Around the same time, a friend and I started the Pint Pals Podcast, where we reviewed local craft beer and breweries and helped spread the word about everything happening in the Columbus brewing scene.

Sour IPA · 5

Another absolute banger from Hudson Valley Brewery. This tasty Sour IPA is incredibly delicious, delivering a perfectly tart and refreshing experience in the glass. It drinks with just a slightly hoppy edge, but the real star of the show is the flavor, it legitimately captures the exact tasting notes of biting into a fresh, juicy peach. Anytime you have the chance to pick up some Hudson Valley Brewing, it is a brewery that you simply cannot pass up, and this offering is exactly why.
