About Me
About Me
I first found my love of craft beer when I got hired for my first serving job. The first craft beer I ever had was Frogtown IPA from Moeller Brew Barn. That began my journey to try as much local craft beer as possible. Since this was in 2015, craft breweries were around, but they were not as abundant as they are ten years later.
I attended a university that was a dry campus. While many of my classmates were smuggling Miller Lite and Keystone into their dorm fridges, I was smuggling in growlers of whatever was on tap that week from Findlay Brewing.
After I left school, I worked a variety of odd jobs, but I was fortunate enough to get a job at a local craft beer and wine store. Working at this store opened my eyes to the world of beer, and during my time there, I decided that I wanted to get into the brewing business.
When the whole world shut down, my wife and I moved down to Columbus, and I waited until I was able to get a job at a local brewery. In 2021, I accepted a position as a cellar technician, and over the years, I was able to work my way up to the position of assistant brewer.
In addition to brewing, my friend and I started a podcast called The Pint Pals Podcast. On the show, we reviewed local craft beer and breweries and helped get the word out about what was going on in the Columbus brewing scene.
MY
SPOTLIGHT
CARROT CAKE
Findlay Brewing has a special place in my heart. Their carrot cake ale is my favorite because, of it’s rich spicy flavor. When I first got into craft beer Findlay Brewing was the closest brewery to me when I was in college. The school I went to was a dry campus and while everyone else was drinking bottom shelf vodka’s and cheap beer, I was drinking growlers of Findlay Brewing beer. This beer is the ideal example of a dessert beer done right. A perfect blend of easy drinking, spices and a light sweetness that give the perfect impression of liquid Carrot Cake.
